Doggie Do?
On tonight’s council agenda I noticed that there is discussion about a dog park. In a time where our council is voting to increase your tax rate, freeze jobs and tighten each departments belt, some of the tax and spenders on the council want the citizens to pay 377,814.58 (just the estimate, we know how accurate estimates are remember BLD ) for a dog park. That estimate does not include M & O (maintenance and operations) funding for the up keep of the park. Is that a good fiscally conservative way to spend our increased city taxes? Now is not the time for such a pork barrel project. If you campaigned on being fiscally conservative with our tax dollars (as every council member has including Mr. Cones and Mr. Baron) then how can such a project even be considered ?
