I understand that the water tank in Webster is now operational. Congrats are in order for taking action and getting to the bottom of the problem. It appears once the Mayor and Council know the problems, that have been hidden, or should I say “Dropped through the cracks”, from them, action and accountability takes over. That is a perfect example of a strong mayor form of government in action. Thoughts? Comments?

Chris,
I will give you that strong mayor, although not the best form of city government, is better than council-manager. "The city-manager form of government is the worst possible way to run a city, because the head of government, the chief executive officer, with all of the power, responsibility, and authority — the person who runs day-to-day operations — is an unelected bureaucrat." Sounds like me, but I didn't write this wisdom. David Stanowski, resident of the City of Galveston, had these words published in the October 13, 2009 issue of the GCDN.
Good morning Chuck,
I read that quote and intend on using his thoughts as well as other information to defeat that form of government.
We have seen what a power hungry, lead by intimidation and not respect, city administrator (and acting city administrator) can do to our city. (and it's not a good thing)
Repairs to water pumping station continue
So is it... Or aint it?
Interesting Chris, I work/worked in that Admin for the past 7 years, I never seen any intimidation except for this Mayor? And I here that there are some recordings of Travis that will dispute that also...this one will get interesting.
