I thought I would post this email from the Mayor.
"For nearly five years, the Glen Cove bridge and related issues have been a point of contention for the residents of Glen Cove and for our City. I have directed our legal counsel to accelerate their efforts on this front and deliver to us a review of the City's potential options for resolving this matter. While we are obviously concerned with protecting the City and its taxpayers, we understand that legal risk is but one of several factors to be used in determining whether an action is proper. Fairness counts, too. I want to ensure that the residents of Glen Cove receive fair treatment as we to protect the interests of all League City's residents and taxpayers."

I know I shouldn't be amazed by this statement, but wow how stupid can she be? Didn't Judge Criss throw this case out? Doesn't that mean its resolved? Who keeps bringing it up?
Bay Area Citizen
Joe,
Be careful how quickly you throw around insults like that as your assumptions are incorrect.
For starters, the case is under active appeal, which means that it is anything but resolved. You should also note that Judge Criss made a nearly identical ruling (which you incorrectly described) that was overturned on appeal not very long ago in a very similar case.
You really should learn the facts before speaking derisively to prevent making yourself look so foolish.
Jeff Hagen
Right Jeff and a jury found OJ not guilty, so you got a chance right? I hope you enjoy all this wasted time and tax money.
Thanks Joe.
I bet that joe aka Pat H aka Nick's media consultant would be the first post on this topic.
Then of course I won the second wager that Pat would repost on the "thinktank".
wait and see....
Let's resolve it and move on
And I knew the trolls would come out from under their bridge, oh I forgot you don't have a bridge. And the "bridge" really is the issue right fella's?
Rusty T you are right, they need to move on, judge ruled now move on and quit throwing our tax money away! And I guess you guys think the only person who disagrees with you is Pat? so everyone must be Pat? So I think everyone on this blog is Jeffy Poo, Paul "short santa" Smith, and Chris "I can't keep a job" Mallios.

Sounds like Pat to me.
So Joe,
Since you're a city employee, presumably low level by your grammar, then I have to wonder how is it you're able to issue a post at 1:03.
I hope you punch out when you post.
BHL good one so you think its a battle of wits, and want to criticize my grammar, well good for you. BHL must be a much better person than all of the blue collar workers in the world! That is probably the most degrading comment I have ever seen you post, and all kidding aside I am ashamed that you would even view “low level” employees as uneducated? Or even stoop to call them “low level”. That is exactly what you have as a Mayor, high school dropout that has family money so she’s going to pay everyone back who picked on her at CCHS. But for the record I have a bachelor of science from a very prominent Texas University, and I served my Country in the Marine Corps. But I guess I am still “low level” in your eyes.
Joe,
First and most important, thank you very much for your service.
However, given your opening post here, you do not have much room to complain about degrading comments.
Jeff
Jeff thank you, but you missed my point with BHL. I probably do deserve to be hit back, but I was referring to his reference to "low level". My co-workers don't deserve to be thought of that way, nor treated that way. THAT my friend is my sole reason for posting on this blog. If she would leave us alone I would quit throwing stones. Our work moral has never been lower. I mean that in all seriousness someone needs to pay attention. I promise that this is starting to affect service.
Really "Joe"? So the mayor won't leave you alone...so you throw stones...and post at 1:03?
Joe,
I don't view low level workers as uneducated. I see people who express themselves in an uneducated manner as being low level workers. There is a BIG difference.
For a BS in ??? you sure conduct yourself like one who isn't an educated professional. How many other jobs have you had and how long have they lasted?
I'll tell you that I used to switch jobs around every two years. It was always the boss who didn't know what he/she was doing, until one day I grew up and realized regardless of the boss, I needed to change first. Your cheese is being moved and you need to recognize and accept it or go find another job.
The following is my post on the ThinkTank regarding comments made by Pat Halisey.
Joe, Ak if you are interested about supported facts pertaining to Glen Cove.
The post follows:
Mr. Halisey,
In your “What have they done?” post a couple of weeks, Glen Cove ranked number seven. “Glen Cove lawsuits, no resolve more money down the drain. 5 years!”
Regarding Glen Cove and Twin Timbers issues, now you post: “Thanks Ms. Randall, Sanborn and Mr. Paulissen, Barber. You have all cost us a fortune.”
Based review of several thousands of pages of documents as well as my participation in over 25 hours of depositions, it is my opinion the Glen Cove lawsuit is the result of the actions of Jerry Shults, Chris Reed, Tommy Cones, Mike Clawson, Dick Gregg, and Arnold Polanco.
Or if you like, blame the 17 plaintiffs who claim the city acted in a wrongful and unlawful manner.
You should be aware the cost of the on-going mediation is just a drop in the bucket compared to the attorney fees charged by Bill Helfand for defense of the lawsuit. You could place blame with the city attorneys for their lack of investigation and attempts to block early mediation.
What is your basis for placing blame on Mayor Randall, Ms. Sanborn, Mr. Barber, and Mr Paulissen?
What is it you want? The choices are settlement or possibility of additional lawsuits and continuing legal expenses.
Charles what does the time of my post have to do with anything at all? Too much freon? How much money did you budget for the renovatons AGAIN Charles? You probably don't want to put a dog in this hunt, trust me, and I don't want to do it.BHL took you a bit to come up with a way to defend yourself classy.
Joe, No need to defend myself. I'm just exposing you for the kind of person you truly are.
You want to be happy at work, quit and start your own business. I'm not paying "Joe" to be happy. I'm paying "Joe" to get the job done... Something that didn't occur during the Harrison and Shults days.
BHL I don't think I even have to point out your simple minded ignorance to moral. I certainly hope you are not a manager. I also hope to get a chance to play trivia someday with you, just to see how "high end" you are. You are the one that sounds like Shults Mr. high society.
Well Joe, let me just say that the last person who spent 3 months accomplishing nothing for me is looking for work. Do the job then I treat you well. Don't do the job even after I've spent time and time again providing direction and removing obstacles, well that's not going to be my problem. I have people I'm accountable to, just as the people under me have to be accountable to me.
You are most likely not in management. If you, you aren't long for it.
I'm not in the mood to dance with you "Joe"...so I'll come straight to the point.
If you are a City employee...you need to resign.. rather than continue with your rants...your insults...and your threats.
or...explain exactly what you meant when you said..."I promise that this is starting to affect service."
In the past you've said you work for Public Works...and from the time you began to post...until now...you have steadfastly attacked the Mayor...and others...as if it is a right.
But you do it anonymously... you do it as an employee...and curiously...you never bother to substantiate anything you say.
If you are an employee, "Joe"...it's not a right...it's a wrong.
Incidentally, the ongoing "renovations" are a group effort...but the primary function of Facilities is to maintain the building standard. That's exactly what we are doing.
What is it that you do, "Joe"? Do you have standards? Do you follow them?
If you were a CEO...or an Administrator... or one of many others working together to set and achieve tangible goals...how would you feel about a "Joe"?
Charles you should read my "past" comments a little closer you missed what I said I do. Remember to, I said "you" don't want to go there. I have left you out for the most part because you are a "co-worker" but thre are some things you probably don't want me to bring up.
If you are a co-worker...then be a co-worker...and join those of us that are trying to change the way we do things. Carping about who is at the top doesn't do that. Coming up with ideas that work and provide tangible benefits to you, the people you work with, the City...and the citizens...does.
I believe it was Pat that has often talked about the resilience of the City...and about how the City will always survive issues with leadership.
You talk about the mayor...and presumably others...interfering with your job...or the jobs of your co-workers... to such a degree that it's affecting service.
How is that, "Joe"?
...and how does the mayor providing "direction" on the bridge issue...or any other issue...impact your daily performance?
Do you think your demeanor might exert a greater influence on productivity that you realize?
Joe,
You have heard some talk about the Glen Cove lawsuit and have formed an opinion.
Why not do some investigation on your own?
You seem to link this case to Mayor Randall. The mayor did not create this situation.
Many citizens expect the mayor and council to work to clean up the mess created by the previous crew.
Forget about "A Note from the mayor".
Why not start a separate blog heading:
All About Joe
Joe, who do you work for? It's not the "city". You work for me, for Paul, for my neighbors, my fellow church members, my kids' teachers, etc..
You talk about being a "happy" worker. Do you you not realize that the citizens of LC were not happy with the Public Works department and want to see drastic changes in that department. Why is that Joe? Who are you trying to please? Yourself or your bosses, the ones who pay your wages through their taxes?
So Charles, tell me what was so bad before that you think there needs to be change? Did the previous Mayors pick on you? Paul have you been drinking again :)
Joe, no response other than an innuendated challenge to Meyer that things weren't so bad under previous stewardship? Perhaps you are unhappy because you see the handwriting on the wall that the citizens are tired of employees like you who believe the city purpose is to serve it's employees first and the citizens last.
You might want to work on your resume.
BHL, first off, there is no need, because I am not on the Mayors radar. In fact she probably don't even know me by name. Now, Randy would :)yea ol' Randy would love me to tell old stories. Its ok BHL do the math how many city employees are unhappy right now, just because most of us aren't outspoken in public. We'll see the next vote, and since most read this and know who you are maybe you should put out a resume? or move...BTW thats not a threat referring to your political choices.
Amazing...
Charlie, I think "pathetic" is more appropriate
