City council

Tuesday will be the only council meeting this month. I noticed that the city web site has a link to watch the council meeting on line. First the council online next the P & Z meetings.

It is already Mid November and time keeps on flyin’ by. It is a beautiful day in our city today. So get outside and enjoy it. Night fires in the backyards tonight with the smell of cedar being burned. (outside not inside) Nothing else like it in the world.

Not sure what the delay or quest for a solution is. www.video.google.com will take a council meeting video if made the correct size.

Marc,

Indeed, Google Video allows 100MB uploads in AVI, MPEG, Quicktime, Real, and Windows Media. If the file is over 100MB in size, Google offers a desktop uploader for Windows, Mac, and Linux... so there really isn't much of a limit if you use the right tool. :)

I believe one issue may be copyright related. You can read Google's TOS for their video uploads here. I personally don't think there's anything that should prevent them from using Google's services for city counsel meetings, but that's a question for their lawyers.

More than anything, they need to fix the video and audio quality. I don't think I could sit through a flash video that has all the pops and cracks that we currently hear over cable...

Richard,
The city should already have a notice on the doors to city council chambers alerting the audience that video cameras are in use. If they want to be extra cautious, they can add a release allowing them to use video of speakers at the podium when they sign in, or they can verbally get the release prior to the time they speak. That should solve an issues in the agreement with Google.

I love this idea! I do not have cable tv, so to be able to watch it over the net would be great.

Absurd. It's a public event held in a public place by a public servant. Take your cloak and dagger secrecy scare and stuff it.

Hatred will not be allowed to continue unchecked in League City. A campaign to expose the hate mongers is underway that will expose the real truth about those who want to mislead and decieve you. Over the next few months you will find the truth express will expose the hate mongers and there stories that prove their ill will towards those that try to move this city forward. remember, four votes move this city forward.

Au contraire. Hate WILL be allowed. The PH rumor mill and all it's sad pseudonyms will continue to spew forth venom and diatribe, ill will and division, gutter sniping at any hapless passerby because PH is a bitter, bitter little man.

Hi BHL,
Yeah I check this place out every once in a while. It needs some excitement. But like smoking, I quit blogging, every once in a while a go out back and take a blog puff.
